If you travel by plane, it could be very useful to prepare a hand baggage to take with you into the cabin with a minimum of various clothes and accessories inside in the unlucky event of the loss of checked baggage, so as to be able to face the first 2 days of travel pending the possible return of the lost baggage by the airline.
What to bring with you in the cabin
- 2 Underpants
- 2 T-shirts
- 2 Pairs of socks
- Sweatshirt (even in summer it is useful to bring it in the cabin for air conditioning during the trip)
- Coat (if the final destination makes it necessary)
- Medicinal kit
- Personal care kit (usually provided by the airline in case of loss of baggage report)
- Umbrella
- (especially passport to always carry with you also in a pouch but separately from photocopies or other documents)
- Cash (leave some cash in the hold baggage in case of theft or loss of the wallet)
- Battery charger for electronic devices
- Foreign electrical socket adapter
Now that you are certain that nothing is missing inside your baggage, it is good practice to make a list (at least of the valuables) and one or more photos of its contents because it could be useful in case of loss by the airline. Close the baggage and take a photo to provide to the "lost and found" office to simplify identification, and make sure to attach a plate with your data to the baggage to make it easier to recognize it and return it to the address indicated.
